School me

I was wondering what kind of product that Adam's carries that gives the natural look. Also, do I 1)wash/dry 2) polish 3) wash/dry again?

oo i gotya lol if your gonna polish anything, always clay before hand. but for upkeep waxes you don't have to. so for polish, do wash/dry, clay, polish, protect (whether it be sealant, wax, or both (sealant always before wax)), then enjoy the shiny luster till it goes away in a week or so..in which then you re wash/dry

Thanks Nick! What would be sufficient for a brand new vehicle that looked pretty damn good off the lot? Just the regular wash/dry and interior work until things are more noticeable? Also, I have a ferd and I want my dash/interior to look new, not necessarily shiny. Any product you'd recommend?

Two-bucket wash will ensure that you're not adding more damage into your finish. I'm hoping that's what you meant by "regular" wash/dry. ;)

Our Leather and Interior Cleaner/Leather and Interior Conditioner is what you're looking for. No high-gloss silicone-filled bologna here. Goes on glossy and dries to a matte finish. If it's too shiny for you're liking, knock it down with a microfiber towel and it will even it out. Also has SPF 65 in it so it protects from the sun.

I easily have over $1500 tied up in my supplies, and I don't have nearly everything I want lol

I will be using this thread soon to do my truck. Not buying all that high dollar shit for now, just going to get some mediocre stuff for now and at least detail my truck. Later on I may order the "quality" stuff if I feel the local stuff I can get isn't making a big difference.

Washing:
-foam, rinse, foam again. Then use one wash bucket with grit guard as the soap bucket with your clean wash pads, the other with clean water to scrub/rinse your used wash pads

Claying:
-not much here besides making sure to use enough detail spray to keep the surface lubricated, but not so slick it doesn't pick up anything.

Polishing:
-be sure the surfaces as as clean as they can be before polishing. So the previous steps are key in keeping swirls out.

When I go to wash/clay/polish/ect, how to I prevent swirls and such?

A two-bucket wash is the key to preventing swirls in your finish. Every time you touch your paint, you run the risk of inducing damage.

Using quality products, such as wash pads and MF towels, will go a long way in the prevention of new swirls/scratches.

BTW, your live chat people are the shit, Nick. I placed an order earlier today and two times since they allowed me to add to it so I would pay for extra shipping :shake:

Yup. 1 addon for the interior cleaner and the other for grit guard, great white, and americana. BTW, 'Ashley' and I belive 'Mike' were the people I dealt with.
