Fuel smell and delayed start

On my 07 nnbs sierra every other time i start the truck it has to turn over for a few seconds before starting, dont think it is the battery because can smell gas after I get out and walk around after driving for a bit. I dont see any leaks or puddles under the truck but i can do a better search once it dries up(supposed to rain the next 2 days). Any one know what this could be before i take it somewhere? Fuel regulator, fuel pump? I have the plugs and wires changed a little while ago, possibly a problem with that? no codes or anything showing.
Thanks in advance

How does it idle? Is it rough? If the plugs were gapped incorrectly that could be the cause of it and a slightly longer start time.

Sounds like the pump is going though, nothing to do with the plugs.

it idles perfectly fine, ill have them look into that... just not sure why it would cause it to always smell like gas outside the truck.

yea normally when the pump goes bad it hesitates to start. check what the fuel pressure is when you turn the key on.

billeh can also be right, if you have a small pin hole, or a loose connection whats happening is your loosing prime when it sits, thats why it takes more cranking, and could explain the smell

So i used torque and started it up, sat at around 43-44psi then after shutting it off within 30 seconds it dropped to 35psi
