Are these the ones you were looking at? I hope so, just because halo's really don't look good on these trucks.

If so, let me do some digging, and see if The Retrofit Source has a "retro-quik" kit that would allow you to easily retrofit a high end HID projector into those lights. You'll have an output similar to this:

lowbeam_2_.jpg

And that's just the low beam. They're bi-xenon, so when you put your high beams on, that sharp cut off goes away and it's just light galore.

High beam output:

Why would you not just order directly from ddm? You are paying more to buy from another place

Because DDM is junk. I had ballasts go out and they dicked me around for months before I just went with TRS stuff. I haven't looked back.

ALSO, you aren't paying more to buy from another place, you're paying more for a better quality product. DDM is essentially just re-branded Made in China brand HID kits you can get from Alibaba, while Morimoto is engineered in house by The Retrofit Source, the company that holds the patents on those products. They're the only modular system on the market as well, meaning that it becomes more cost effective down the road when something fails, such as an igniter. You don't have to replace an entire ballast.

Found a thread, someone else did what you're looking to do.

If you're interested, I can point you in the right direction for parts, and give you some pointers on some do's and dont's for your retrofit. I have some experience.

The fact is, it's always easier to take a headlight that already has a projector in it, and do some minor modifications to install an even better projector in that housing. BUT, in doing some digging, it is definitely possible.

http://www.gmt400.com/threads/hid-projector-retrofit.7161/ Here's someone that did it.

So I've been doing research, and it seems as though your best bet is to start with those projector housings. It's easier. You may have to trim the core support a little so the projector/bulb doesn't come into contact with it after you're done your retrofit.

Black housings means that the stock high beam bulb will be completely useless, BUT, since you're going with bi-xenon projectors, those projectors will do both your low and high beam, so your stock high beam bulb basically ends up just being there for show.

Do you have daytime running lights? And do you plan on keeping the stock high beam bulb functional? You could just slam a 5000K LED bulb in there for looks when your high beams are on.

Depending on your plan, I'll assemble a "suggested parts list" for your retro, with a few options. You'll get an idea on price and then you can make your decision from there.

I'll also find you a few good instructional videos on retrofitting basics, like re-sealing headlights properly and such, and then you should be golden.

Let me know.
