I crawled under the truck today and was like  The frame on my truck looks real gnarly. I've hear good and bad about POR-15, as wella s rust bullet and other products. What would be the best way to tackle this? Scrape as much of it off with a wire brush and paint? Would that be enough?

ive heard from wire brush on a cutoff wheel tool from an air compressor, to acetone/kerosene soaked and hot water pressure wash to strip. i need to do it and get some sort of undercoating going on. next truck i get its gona have that shit done before i even drive it off the lot.

If you were in okla i would have a guy that could do it for you! He does a frame off he did two in a wk with a broken ass back! Hes lambodonomo on boards(garrison)

Truck from up north or something? Post some pics up of the rust.

Yes, truck spent 2 winters in Michigan, as well as a lot of time on the beach/coast here in NC. I'll get some pics up tomorrow

Damn wish I was in OK.

I use a rock hard rocker guard undercoat product on all my trucks. Survives the CND winters fine...heres my diesel

What do you use? That looks good. I generally avoid undercoat like the plague as most (even 3m) has no UV protection and turns to nasty brown shit after a year or so. Never again. I cleaned, wire brushed, and rustoleum semi glossed mine.

I use a few cans of rustoleum engine enamel on my undercarriage. I touch it up once a year and it holds up good.

Aerosols

high build stone guard. its fades a bit over the salty winters, but if it didn't have salt on it, it would last years. I pressure wash and scrub it when it gets dirty with a brush and brings it back to new.

Looks great Brandon!

Anyone have any recommendation on what products to put on over the rusty areas after cleaning and before I paint/undercoat?
