Sounds like top end noise, I was driving and it was doing fine, pulled up at a buddies, turned it off and then cranked it up and it makes this noise now. No noise at all before. Good oil pressure. Extreme loss of power and truck shakes bad now. Oil is good. https://youtu.be/_KCWG2RBMyU

Pull the valve covers and take a look at lifters.. My guess is valve train.
Assuming its valve train, Next question is do you want to delete VVT or go with a VVT cam?

Or you could leave it stock and replace whatever is broken in the valve train for cheap. I would replace springs though.

pull engine and trans, and send that to me with the lights, sell the rest.

but that does sound nasty.. do what ginger said

def in the valve train, im almost thinking a broken rocker for some reason,

i also know that you arent easy on this truck.

pull valve covers report back.
I figured rocker arm also. He pulled both sides and sent pics. Not one busted or backed off.

Did you look into those frayed wires near your throttle body? Is p0306 the only code stored?

no DoD, but it has VVT
Yes only code I could find. Need to get a better computer on it. Have someone bringing a techII or whatever at 5. I isolated the wires and wrapped them good. Flashing engine light and service trac/stabilitrak

Dropped valve seat... Guy fixing it said it was one of the weirdest things he'd seen on a v8. Valve hit the piston barely but not too bad. Should be back running Thursday

Sounds like a fucked lifter, and if t came apart then there's metal all in that bitch lol

didnt't sound anything like a lifter

none of the 6.2 have DOD that I have seen. But that's not important, because many of us with DOD have had non-dod lifters take a shit. Inclduing myself and another local guy recently.
