Check Engine Light ?

Should the check engine light come on with just the ignition turned on ? Mine does not but all the other warnings do. I know it works as I have had it come on before I cleaned the MAF sensor. Thanks Doc

Update, it came on and went off on start up normal now. But the speedo is stuck on 85 mph. ? Thanks Doc

On a side note I had a 2004 Chevy SSR that when the ignition was turned on the gauges would sweep, this truck does not 2004 Sierra 4.8 reg cab. Should the gauges sweep ? Thanks Doc

No gauge sweep here either, they don't do that in these trucks.

if you want to have someone really good and a nice guy, PM scottyboy he is a forum member he does stepper motors and LED's

Honestly it is very easy to do if you take your time and marketing where the needles were. After doing it a few times, it takes me less than 10 minutes to have it out and disassembled.

i did the stepper motor myself as well before, its not terrible is you take your time. and i have a shitty soidering iron.

mine ended up being a short in the main board.

I ordered the stepper motors and will attempt to do it myself. I have red lights now and like them and they all work. Thanks Doc

Installed new stepper motors and left the stock bulbs in place as they all work and I do very little night driving, Scotty's tread on the stepper motor install was a life saver for me. Thanks Scotty
