Dakota's 2008 vmax thread

Got my new tailgate handle in today. Opted for one without a keyhole. The one that was on it didnt come on this truck so my key didnt work anyway.

Its not bad at all imo. I can feel the bumps slightly more than before the coils but overall its a smooth ride. No bottoming out either and can go over speed bumps without scraping. Thats unheard of at 6/9 on nbs. Lol

That's good to hear. Did you need alignment bushings for the uppers to get it aligned . I picked up some just in case.

Thanks dude. The turning radius on this truck is much better than my nbs. I dont do many u turns anyway but i can make some pretty decent sharp turns in this one.
Im running mcg spindles on both trucks but I dont know what changes they made for the newer trucks.

Well, my shitty luck struck again...driveshaft grenaded on the highway on my way to work. :bruh: i should have been prepared for this as i knew it had a scar on it from when it was lowered before i got it.

You can run a 2 piece in this truck lol

We'll see. I cant really afford any down time right now so ill probably go pick up a stock 1 piece tomorrow and then work on getting a 2 piece and crossmember ready to go in it.

Word. Luckily when it broke, i was going fast enough that when the pieces hit the ground they went straight out the back rather than get spun around under the truck. All that was left under there was the u joint.

More problems, as if my luck wasnt shitty enough. So ive been having this intermittent non cranking issue for a while now. Thought i had it fixed but its back. I can get in and drive all over town and stop several times and it starts fine. But ill go home for an hour or 2 and when i go to get in and leave again it wont crank. All of the lights, radio, ac, etc come on but when i turn the key i can just hear the starter click. I can hook up jumper cables and immediately turn the key and it fires right up.

Its so random though i havent been able to trace it. Itll either do it twice in a week or twice in a day. Sometimes if i let it sit a while itll crank up. For instance, Saturday night, i had work and when i got ready to leave the house it wouldn't crank. Fought with it for 30 minutes before i finally just called my buddy and had him pick me up on the way. Fast forward 13 hours later, when i get home from work, it fires right up without hesitation. This shit baffles me.

Any ideas what i need to look for. The battery is only a year or so old and i had it tested when i swapped it over to this truck. Ive checked some fuses and cables and cant find anything bad.

Starter relay maybe? But if that was bad it probably wouldn't start all the time. Worth a shot to swap it and see if it helps.
