Okay so I'll run through the current setup, calspped long tubes with 3" ory, 3" bullet after the y into 3.5" piping to a Aero turbine muffler, non resonated, to 4" tailpipe over the axle. The truck has always been this loud but now with 4.56 gears and a 2500 stall converter its unbearable when accelerating. I love how it sounds now, just would like suggestions for a larger/quieter straight through design muffler. Don't want a magnaflow, not a fan of their sound.

I know some of you guys have similar setups, looking for some help.

One of the big Gibson round mufflers should quiet it down a bit, I'd look into them. Sounds decent too. IIRC that's what Eddie has on his

Totally different setup but backs up Chris's comment one friend in high school had Gibson catback on his suburban and another friend had magnaflow on truck with same engine and Gibson sounded better of the 2.

Have you looked into Borla? I have pn #40085, it's a 15" case but iirc they have bigger options.

No I haven't, I've always been with the loudest exhaust possible, but the converter is too much now. Makes my ears hurt taking off around town and I can only imagine what will happen if I tow a trailer now.

Can you text me any videos of your truck's sound please?

My truck has 1 7/8 Long Tubes + Off-Road Y + 3" exhaust into a 10x5x24 Bassani muffler. It has great tone through the RPM band and it is nice and quiet at HWY speeds. It has a light drone with a turn down, and very little drone with a tail pipe.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna see what sound clips I can find. I'm not even daily driving the truck right now because it's that loud.

I have the exact same setup as you until the muffler. I have a 22" di/do magnaflow and its still too loud for me too. Let me know what you find, i kinda gave up since its not really a dd anymore.

Well don't get me wrong I still want it loud, just not deafening loud like it is now, so that I still might be able to take a road trip. Planning on buying all terrain tires soon too so, road noise should go down.
