stall question

I finally got my rear main and oil pan gaskets leaks squared away (bad install or faulty seals, who knows) and the yank 3200 installed.

How will it be driving without the cooler installed? Should I just get the car home and then install it? Or will normal driving be fine for a bit? The shop that fixed the leaks and installed the stall did it as a favor and was going to have to charge flag for the cooler so I opted out to do it on my own next weekend. I am going out of town this weekend and wanted to know before I took the car or just leave it behind and take the daily.

*Disclaimer: I plan on installing the cooler, so don't freak out. I also do not plan on beating the car at all until so.

Unless you're beating the hell out of it you should be fine, a 3200 doesn't generate a ton of heat. Do you have a trans temp gauge?

3200 will be fine. Helped a friend build a FBO cammed, maggied, G8 and he ran a yank 3200 with no cooler for a while

I'm pretty sure I am going to suck it up and leave it. Just not worth the trouble if issues arise. I had that already in my mind, but I still wanted to know how I'd be around town out of traffic, I don't drive during peak traffic hours.

Would be most prudent thing to to...specially with the woman in tow. I didnt wanna take the truck to LA after I swapped valve covers

I can only imagine the shit I'd have to endure if the car took a poop on the trip down there. Might as well set it on fire and walk away, and go straight to a dealer and buy a new car that day, would be way easier to swallow than listening to her.

Can you borrow an aeroforce or dashhawk to monitor it? It'd be really easy that way and you'd have peace of mind. But as said, a 3200 won't generate that much more heat. Is the stock cooler still hooked up?

it runs through the radiator only. I don't know anyone that has a gauge lying around. We are leaving Friday morning. It's about a 3.5 hour trip running 75-80mph

if youre going through austin on 35...its always peak traffic hours.

No, not really. Didn't have a problem last few times we went down that way. I won't be in Austin during the work week.
