stupid 6.2 swap question.

I wanna do a l92 6.2 swap straight to the point is it worth it our is it better to supercharged my current 5.3??? Any route I take all be expending around $7k

This is going on my 2012 GMC Sierra Any info would help a lot
 
i always though you're better off building a 6.0 iron block if you want do get bang for buck, but i was recommended by jim @ cal speed to do the 6.2 as it wasnt too much more than a reconditioned 6.0 short block and going from there. might be different for him since he gets blocks all the time, but just relaying what he told me
 
A lot off option out there. For me I preferred a lq9/lq4 6.0 block but I can't find one here in Oregon all I find is clonplete engines and there price $4-5k and I don't need a clonplete swap. if I could just find a block.
 
Personally Id do 10psi on the factory motor with a Magnacharger, and never look back. You cannot beat the drive ability, tow ability, and reliability of a Magnacharger.

no one has asked if its a 4x4 truck? lowered? lifted? towing? All these factors play into what setup you should be running. I wouldnt want a built lq9 with heads, Cam, Stall, Headers and have it behind a truck with bigger tires or towing. The power band is way off for what you may be doing with it.
 
first off, why the swap? That is even more important. A little more hp? Fun? Trashed current motor?

If you just tossed the charger on the truck as is, you'd probably be pretty happy, not too expensive and around the same power as the 6.2. Actually, you will probably have a tad more than a stock 6.2.

A FBO 6.2 can be pretty responsive. both have pros and cons

I don't see how the 6.2 swap would cost you as much as a magnacharger. Aren't those typically $6k I can't imagine you having to pay $6k for the 6.2, I sure as hell wouldnt!

When you start looking into used setups, you run the risk of issues. Look at Thompson Motorsports and Schwienke
 
Junk yards sell them here for $3500 complete swap on the long run the 6.2 would off been better as I build it. For the 6.2 is going on a 2012 gmc 1500 4x4 level

im going too focus on my 06 Silverado rwd and do 408 stroker make some good power for $5k or less
