Suggest A Cam/Stall

Well i still havent put a cam in it.
Buddy of mine is selling a
Texas Speed Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598" Camshaft

How would that perform in a 4.8?
 
Seems a bit big imo for the 4.8. But I'm slightly above noob level with cams. I think you should stay in the 22x/22x range.
 
Im a noob with cams, comes with rods, lifters,springs. 800 miles on it, only reason im wondering cause he said he will sell it all for $400 if i want it.
 
Honestly, your best bet is to pay the $25 for Pat G to spec you out a cam. It'll be specific for your setup and it'll work better than an off the shelf grind. Same price for them to grind the cam too.
 
Jimmy that's almost the same cam I run in my 370...,it would work in a 4.8 with 4.10s,4200ish converter and a damn good in person tune. Just not practical and the driveability will suck and would probally still not have much ass down low.

Geoff at EPS speced my cam,patg and him work together. Both solid guys.

Off the shelf cams my 4.8 friends run
212/218-3200
Tsp 220-3200
Tsp 224-3600
Vinci trucker -3200
Vinci asp kicker -3200
The sleeper ls6 cam with a 3200

I ran a Vinci high performance 216/224 in my 4.8 with a 3200 and 4.11s,solid setup. My buddy is selling the cam I sold him if your intrested.
Geoff speced my buddys 4.8 a 214/220 58x/58x 112 with longtubes,3600,3.73s,tbss intake
The biggest cam isnt the best cam.

Vinci trucker 216/224
Yank 3200
Ls6 springs/hardened pushrods
40k trans cooler.
The cam and springs are on the way, just gotta save alittle more to buy the rest.
 
Niice.. was planning on running that same setup for a while but I think im gonna step up cam size a little bit
 
Got trucks here with 6.0s running them,do great
I assume you hooked up with pat ?

I talked to Geoff at EPS and had him spec my cam and i love it. It's a 214/222 on a 113 + 2. It's really impressive with stock converter but I think I'm gonna get a 3600 before long.

sorry to high jacket thread but what are your guys thoughts on the Yank stealth 3000 stall? Found one locally NIB for $350.

I was thinking of running a Vinci in:

DUR @ .004" 276* / 284*
DUR @ .050" 214*/ 222*
LIFT .585/.585
LSA 115*
