I have an 04 Silverado 2500hd 6.0 . I haven't don't anything to to the truck since I bought it last year. It currently has 145,000 miles, 10ply hankook dynapro ats and the factory shocks. It is level in the front so I'm assuming someone may have cranked the torsion bars to level it. As I stated the truck rides like a log wagon! Rough as all get out! What can I do to improve the ride quantity of my truck? I tow a ski boat during the summer and may tow a camper once a year and/or a cattle trailer 1-2 times a year short distances so towing is not going to be a major issue. Any advice/input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

If you just want ride comfort over looks:

Decrank the front to flat angles, new shocks front & back, and check to make sure the tires aren't aired up more than they need to be.

This. New shocks, you're way overdue. You'll lose being level a bit, but decranking will help a ton

How much decranking would be needed to better the ride?

Tires construction and pressure all factor in as well.

How much you need to decrank will most likely depend on where you're comfortable with it

And as stated, decrank until the suspension angles are almost flat. Whether that's 1" or 2" we can't tell you through the interwebs.

And I'd definitely look into some fresh shocks.
