Well, I can only assume it was a bad wire within the relay harness itself. I triple checked any and all fuses pertaining to the headlights, connections, grounds, etc. I tried new grounding points, tried every possible way to switch connectors around to reverse polarity and I tried a few bosch...

is there a "reset" button on the headunit? if so, turn the truck to where the headunit would get power and press and hold the reset button a time or two. then turn truck off and then see if that fixes the problem. my buddy had a 25th anniversary kenwood, that just decided to stop working...
