I got a set of Focal 165 A1s to replace my shitty Blose speakers in my front doors, my question is should I put the new tweeters in the door panels behind the factory grilles above the main speaker and just unhook my factory ones on the a pillar or should I just open up the factory a pillar holes so the Focal tweeters fit? They will be run off the factory Bose amp for now but when I get my DD they will be run with my MTX 4 Channel amp(45x4 RMS or something like that). I just want to know whats going to sound the best with both setups, more concerned with after I amplify them.

I'd put then in the factory location. That's just me. I don't like them in the pillar all obvious and such.

Put them in the doors, that's what I did.

I retained factory tweeters, and used coaxial speakers. Didn't want to fuck with components in this truck. But my Coax's now sound better than my components did in last car

Ah, well if the pillar is you're factory spot I vote there. Just pop the old one out, and mount you're new one there from the inside. Never know thy are there

Thanks, I really like them much better than the Bostons I have in the Silvy. I still need to put some Dynomat down and install the midrange driver, got the three ways. Plan to mount that one where the stock tweeters are just need to cut the panel and a little of the door skin behind it. The tweeters were set a -6 when I got them and I switched it to -3. They were just too low for me on the -6, once I get the other speaker in the door I might play a little more with the settings.

Got my components in today, set the tweeters at -3 and unhooked factory a pillar tweeters(to much with those still running). Running Foacal 165 A1s(6.5") front and Fosgate FNP 2405s(5.25") rear. Was excited and for got pics until it was all back together but you can see where I put the tweeters still.
