call me old fashioned but Im not big on the new craze with the big trucks, I prefer mini truckin. I have a 1995 Chevy S10 reg cab short box, im putting in a small block(305 for now). i would also like to use a corvette transaxle in the rear fro weight and space up front. just curious if anyone else here has had the same idea?

thank you, i hope i can find some like minded GM fans in here. ive been a lifelong GM lover. i currently own a 72 Buick Gran Sport, a 95 S10, an 06 Monte Carlo SS, and my wife's 13 Equanox. my first truck was an 89 S10 Tahoe.

Welcome! I still love minitrucking. First truck was a slammed ecsb 98 S10.

And I've never even heard of anyone doing that conversion lol.

Welcome from NY.

Haven't heard of the transaxle swap. Typically guys will swap in the Ford Explorer 8.8 rear for added strength over the stock rear.

Welcome, I say you buy a C4 and strip it down for parts. I think it would be awesome to see an S10 with Corvette suspension, then you could probably find an LT1/T56 car too and forget about the 305 all together.

I don't get what space you are saving with the transaxle. But if you are going through all that work do a 350 right away. It's not like a 350 is hard to come by

I had a 92 S-10 with 350 small block in it, not hard to do. Never considered the transaxle, why would you want to do that? You can build a better axle than a transaxle to stuff underneath it.

My father was a fabricator.he put an Lt1 from a z28 and a front end from an s10 where the rear end is to get all wheel steering. This is similar to you corvette rear only with added steering option.he used a hydrolic steering unit out of a fork truck

Ls swap all the way, tons of power and parts are plentiful. Couple of companies make complete conversion kits for s10s
