2002 Silverado 2500HD build thread....

Wow, it's the end of an era. But I'm glad you're keeping it! It still looks so clean. Maybe find some H2s and throw them on there, always loved how those wheels looked.

Some plans in the works? Does that mean it's getting supercharged?!

Thanks!

I've always liked the looks of H2s wrapped in oversized, meaty tires too.

Truck will get more CM'ing soon. Ordering a new tailgate cap as my OEM one was warped and bugged me. I'd like to pick up a 8' tonneau as well.... As I sold the Leer cap I had last year. And, eventually aftermarket 18/20s and 33/34s for a "summer setup".

Looks good man. It’s hard to say no to a low mileage truck that you’ve had since new

I agree! Thanks. :shake:

I'm not really a fan of the style of these OEM 17s.... Never have been?!? but, they are in great shape, so I'm running them. Hell, I prefer the polished PYOs I have over these as my spare set.... But, I was unable to find decent used 16" tires.... And, my buddy offered me these.

If I ran across a good deal on used H2s I'd scoop them up. Ultimately, I wanna save money for a "summer setup" though.

Time warp....! Lol...

I know you're liking it at the new height but damn that's gonna take some getting used to after seeing it lifted so high for so long lol. It looked damn good.

I know.... Lol. Believe me.... it is taking some getting used to.... Everytime I walk outside and see it. Haha. Its been lifted like that on 37/38s since 2005....

I wouldn't say I necessarily "enjoy driving it more" like this. It rode/drove great before and got tons of looks.... But, I am enjoying using/driving it again.

Still to come..... MORE Indigo blue paint! Ordering paint soon and CM'ing will commence.

Looking good man! Can’t wait to see more color matching!

Thanks!

Had pocket flares off of the truck for a bit. Wetsanded/polished faint etch lines away in the clearcoat from the flares. But, PS bedside is the worst.... Rubbed through to primer!!!!

I think OEM flares would come close to covering what's left.... But until I get a set I won't know?!? So I ended up putting pocket flares back on for now.

I plan to CM the bumper cap, flares, and redo my spare HD grille/grille bar. It'll mostly be blue/chrome/polished then!

I wanna say you've never had anything over a 17" wheel on the truck before? Crazy haha. Looks awesome

Yep! Lol. 17s are the biggest it's ever had.

20s are starting to grow on me. I think it could still use more tire though.... Both a touch taller and wider.... :hmm:

Maybe 295/60s or a short 35/12.50....?!? Ideally more width too.... 35/13.50s would be sweet IMO.

bumpin this because I need a new tailgate cap. Found a bunch on ebay just wanted to see where u got urs

Got mine off Amazon..... IAMAUTO for $49.95.

It is obviously the earlier 99-02 style. It's ok for the money...... I had to trim the tailgate shape into it a tiny bit to help with fitment. But it's still better than my warped OEM HD cap.

Creeping up…..

Cleaned the HD up the other night. Used this new toy and Chemical Guys honeydew snow foam wash… worked pretty well given the price!

So positive review of the foam cannon? The others are pretty expensive compared to that one.

Yes! I have nothing to base this off of though. Lol.

I've only used this twice the other night, on my HD and the wife's Explorer. Quality unit, it seems and feels nice. Did what I expected it to do.... and, I used my 2000psi electric pressure washer with it.

So…. With Carlisle ATN 18’ approaching, I got in the mood to do a few things I've been wanting to get done on the HD.

Picked up a set of OEM flares cheap off CL. Then got my spare bumper cap, grille, and flares all colormatched. Bumper cap and grille came out nice! Flares I'll redo at some point. I didn't get all the texture out and hoped the primer would've filled more than it did. Then I ran short on primer and time, so I had to get them painted and on ...

Putting it together and cleaning prior to show last weekend. Also grabbed new RCX N3.0 shocks to replace the temporary worn OEM ones I was running which were too short.

Cousin bought new 35/12.50 Ridge Grapplers from 4Wheelparts for his 15’ 2500HD at Carlisle ATN. So, obviously, I couldn't help myself…. Bought his old 295/60/20 Trail Grapplers and had them M&B at 4Wheelparts during the show! 4Wheelparts had their mobile tire service trailer there. Those guys were great!

Saturday/Sunday ATN pics. 295/60s really changed the look for the better IMO. Loving the complete setup now!
