I replaced the valve cover gasket on my wife's 2005 Altima a few days ago, because its been leaking oil.
Once I got the cover off, I was quite impressed with how clean the inside of the engine is. Son of a bitch looks brand new, yet it is 8 years old and it has 120k miles on it. There is absolutely ZERO sludge anywhere! I have been using full synthetic oil since the second oil change at 7k miles. Its had Mobil1 SuperSyn in it since 7k miles and started using Amsoil XL Series somewhere around 70k miles. I will never use Dino oil ever again. Only Amsoil for
me.

And the oil you see on it now (which looks pretty damn clean) has 7000+ miles on it.

Am i the only one who isnt impressed? What am I missing here? Yeah its clean but so is every engine i have taken apart that has been maintained. The only engines filled with sludge and shit are engines that didnt get regular oil changes.

I was gonna switch to synthetic the next time my oil is due anyway, but this is good reasoning to.

I put 1/3 in gas tank, 1/3 in with my oil & 1/3 through the vacuum line. This time I'll just do it in with the oil.
