Morimoto plates

I ran 35W 5k in my stock projectors and while they weren't fantastic, they weren't complete crap...

How old are the lights you got? If it's a high mileage truck you may have burnt projectors like Geoff said.

They had been sitting at the wreckers for the last 2 years. I think I need them aimed higher, they don't illuminate signs even on the side of the road. Maybe ill open them up and look at the bowls anyways. Tempted to just throw the old headlights on until I retrofit if its not an alignment issue. How do I aim these anyways?

If you're lighting up signs going down the road, you're aimed too high.

Go behind a Wal mart or some shit, park alongside a long wall and make sure the beam of the light is about level, maybe aimed down about 2-3 degrees.

Then aim your lights straight at the wall and make sure the cutoffs of each light line up.

I'm going to open them up and look at the bowls, and I'm in buttfuck nowhere so I'll be hard pressed finding a wall lol

Yeah....they were in need of aiming. Below a bumper is no good lol. So I raised them to a couple inches below a cars side mirrors and threw my 55w ballasts on. I don't care if I destroy the bowls lol

Seeing as I scored some Denali's off of Greg, I'm now looking to do the retro. I have 2 questiosn though, so Pat or Bryan or someone chime in please :D

First, I don't need any shrouds, right? SO just order whichever ones in the kit and discard them when I get them?

Second:

And you WILL NEED THIS either way: High Beam Splitters - Accessories from The Retrofit Source Inc (I made my high beam correctional splitters)

The high beam splitters I would need are the 9005 Male > 9005/6 Female, correct?

Already have ballasts, just need to ge the bulbs and projectors. And then clear these stupid things too

Sweet, I figured as much but didn't want to be stuck halfway through doing it with the wrong parts. Well, I can add it all to my Xmas list haha

Damn, you gonna have them too? :bawss: might be selling my headlights and corners soon. :secret:

You shouldn't have to order the high beam splitters. I want to say mine MH1's came with them. I think...I cant remember and I don't feel like walking the 15 feet to go outside and look.

And no, you don't need shrouds. Once you are done with this you will wonder why you waited so long to do it.

Well I only just got the housings last week from Greg. He was kind enough to hold them for me since spring until the NJ meet haha. I'm ready for real light output!

Now you just gotta wait for da plates lol

I ordered the splitter, but my lights came with the bulbs and the extension wires still attached, so I might just make my own. Although...

Yeah I need to bug Bryan about the damn plates. And then order all the retro stuff. SO hopefully around xmas time I'll have this done
