Best 6.5" speakers for $100

Just as the title states. what is the best deal out there right now for around $100 for from 6.5" speakers? Off a aftermarket headunit, no amp. I can get some Polk audio DB6501 for $80 on Ebay..what else would you recommend? Its for my buddies jeep cherokee. thanks a bunch
 
Don't go out and blow that much money on speakers without an amp for em. It's stupid. Head unit power blows. Tell him to save up and get a decent four channel, alpine is my preferred brand on that, and some components.
 
ehh he isnt gonna put an amp on them...the stocks are just blown from his sister driving the thing, so he has to replace them and just figured to put something decent in it..
 
just a stock replacement, go with a name brand speaker in that price range. rockford, pioneer, kicker, w/e, not gonna matter if running of a deck and not going to be amped
 
You will thank yourself if you go amped..it's night and day, not just a volume difference but clarity.

I've had DLS components with paper cones and tin cones but this past weekend I got a pair of brand new Sundown neo pro 6.5's...and they blow them out the water...I'm not even running tweeters at the moment. They're loud and sound awesome. I was at Lay'd out At the Park last weekend and a friend of mine could here the mids clearly a few hundred feet away.

Anyway, those retail $105 a pop. If you're not putting power behind whatever you're installing, don't worry about buying a nice set.
