NNBS Mcgaughy helper bag problem

I was expecting more lift then 1.5 to 2". The frame tapers and the brackets only go on one way. The rearend is at full droop in the pic. That bag looks super stretched, I was afraid of ripping it letting it droop like that. I sent pics to mcgaughy. The guy I talked to didn't seem to know to much, he said he was gonna show the pics to the r&d department. I think if they say everything is how its supposed to be, I'm gonna modify the upper bracket so the bag doesn't stretch out so much. Eric and bayousam, how much lift do you guys get out of your bags? bayousam, how much drop do you have in the rear?

I get maybe 2" from mine.

I got everything to fit like I wanted it to. I cut the mount off of the bracket and moved it down 2". Before I got around 1.25" of lift, now I get 2" even. It's definitely better then before, the bag doesn't stretch out now.

awesome man, every once in a while, shit doesn't work out. You gotta cut shit. Glad to see you stuck with it and made it work, however, I would take plenty of pics, and email MCG directly. Tell them you had issues, worked around them, but still not 100% happy with the situation.

Thanx Jared, nothing makes me more mad then when you buy something "bolt on" and it doesn't fit right. My dad said the same thing, I should email mcgaughy cause after this I will never buy anything from them again. I'm just glad my dad could weld, otherwise it would have cost me even more money for someone to weld it back together for me.

No prob. We have the same setup really. I have rear flip and the lift hanger. I'll measure later and post up.

Aired out completely I am at 33.5" from center of fender to the ground. Aired up to 90psi I am at 35.5" exactly.

That's interesting, I wonder why mine didn't do that un-modified. Mine is 33 1/8 aired out and 35 1/8 at 90psi.

If your not happy with how it is, go for it Eric. I'll tell you one thing, the only thing I like about the mcgaughy kit is the bolt over upper mount. The bottom mount sucks IMO. It should be adjustable after you install it like the airlift. I will never buy a mcgaughy product after having this bag kit.

If I buy a product and it doesn't fit properly and the company tells me that's how it is supposed to be, I will not purchase anything else from them again. It doesn't matter Jared, I only use belltech lowering parts anyway. I've used belltech on 2 trucks and 0 issues with anything.

But to be fair, you are comparing a helper bag kit to lowering parts. If anything, it could have been a mess up in manufacturing. Because the same truck above did not have the same issue. Just saying. I'd be upset too, but all you had to do was relocate it.

and you know what I just thought of? Your truck is 4x4, which sits higher than a 2wd, and of you lowered it 4/6, it would sit higher than a 2wd 4/6, so that may be why it didn't fit properly? Just a thought, anyone care to chime in?

Eric's truck (Quicksilverz71) is 4WD and he said he gets 2" of lift without any mods. Being 4WD might be the problem, but I thought the nnbs 2 and 4WD sat at the same height.

Don't the 4wd trucks have a block between the axle and leafs?

My nnbs 2wd w/t had the 1.25" blocks in the rear. Bought it used so maybe previous owner put them in.

My truck sat identical to my brothers nnbs 4x4 Z71
