I'm thinking of getting this head unit for my Crew Cab. AVH-P8400BH Thoughts?

Probably a dumb question, can you switch songs manually with your iPod on this unit without using the interface? I don't know jack about Audio.

Someone said all you need to do is run a wire to your parking break...please someone chime in. This reminds me, I need to order my shit.
 
You just ground the red wire iirc, when i had my eclipse double din I just grounded the red wire to the back of the deck on one of the screws
 
That would kill your power to ground a red wire. The tr7 is a pain in the ass. Get that and you'll be happy. And yes you can control from the iPod too. Just put it in app mode.
 
On my eclipse it was red with a white stripe but I know some companies use different colors for the brake override..pioneer might be green but don't hold me to that
 
yep pioneer is green if you ground it you will need a switch on it once the screens turns off and you turn it back on it wont play video till you reground it
 
Yea pioneer is green. I had to also run a relay.

Doubt if you're not using the ipod interface that you can change songs from the head unit.

Pioneer is green, I had issues with that H/U if you ask my why it would always heat up on me and turn off sometimes didn't want to play iPod or cd! I bought mine at crutchfield. I have the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD which works way better!

I have the AVH 4300 and absolutely love it. Picked it up for $399. I'll check the wiring when I get off work.

This is how it's done on the older ones but if they said anything about a tr7 the bypass is different.

I vote pioneer 4300, 7" screen and its got an SD slot so you can upload pictures as a background, amazon they are like $400..it will be my next double din

got my 6300 bt (single) for free cant beat that lol sd and usb on front in convenient as hell got my sig as background lol
