Removing pinstripe residue--

I'm in the process of removing the pinstripe and molding from my 2013 Sierra. I know on the molding to use the eraser wheel, but what about the fine residue left from the pinstripe? Would a clay bar take care of it? Thanks

I used bug/tar remover and a towel. I've found the TurtleWax bag/tar works the best. Kinda like Goo-B-Gone but safe for paint.
 
It's actually not even a residue, but when the light hits where the pinstripe used to be, you can still see the lines. It's not scratched, but surely the paint isn't faded being a 2013 truck
 
Oh. Yea I don't know about that. I still have faint outlines from my moldings. I've tried everything. Even a super course compound. I can't get rid of them. But my paint is 17 years old. It looks like a faint scratch but if you look close, its like a weird transition line in the clear coat. Fuck if I know.
 
I used the eraser wheel to remove the pin stripe on my old truck and then polished where it hit the paint.
 
You'd be surprised how much paint will change in a year or 2, if the residue is gone but still shows I'd clay bar it and polish it.
 
if it looks like its fade and you dont have any thing that you can catch with a finger nail then it is fade, polish it out.

I have this on my truck. Can still see the pinstripes when the light catches it right. I'm just planning on getting my buddy to high speed buff it at some point
