Went to Michigan today and brought my parts back across. Going to install them tomorrow if it's not raining.

The blinker bulb socket was no where close to matching the cutout in the lenses so they needed to be opened up with an exactoknife.
had some time earlier on before I was rained out so I switched out the heads and parking lights...still need to do the fogs
Got the hoe put on the road this morning and messed around with a few things. I pulled one of the chrome flares off and found that the paint was bubbled underneath so the chrome ones are going to stay for now. I'm going to get the rust fixed, paint blended and then mount some OEM flares (painted eventually).
This is way these stupid things are the worst, especially in Ontario. Easiest way to ruin a truck

You ever have issues with Duty when going back from Michigan with your parts?
I was looking into some Canadian parts for my Honda snowblower (Canada gets better models than US, and Yamaha blowers too, which isn't sold in US) a bit ago, but wondering if I'd get raped in duties/taxes.
Oh, and why didn't you stick with the OEM tails? If you didn't like amber you could have candied instead, and still have a better piece and less money than ebay one...

Sometimes they try to hassle me but I always have all my paperwork for receipts so it's generally pretty quick. On your car parts it's 13% of CDN value of parts. That's all they can charge you on your import goods unless it's tobacco/alcohol which is a higher rate.
As for the tail lights, I would take these over candied stocks in a heartbeat. I didn't like the amber as well as the overall shape/layout of them. I find these look a bit more modern (closer to nnbs truck style) without being over the top. They only took about 2 minutes each to carve out the socket so it wasn't really all that bad.

I got them from another local member, MRobi. He found them on an escalade at a scrap yard when he was there hunting for parts for his new project. Also getting the cluster from it as well.
Had time to do this last night, well Matt did them while I worked up my nnbs.
