LED head light bulbs? any info/details on them ?

Yeah. The issue with putting an LED in an HID housing is that the focal point of the projector bowl is made for the hot spot on the HID bulb. If that's out of spec you'll have fuzzy cuttoff, dim output, etc. I actually just rectified an issue that I had with a defective bulb with a funky hot spot. TRS Warranty FTW btw.

LED's should be in an LED specific projector. TRS should have a model out next year but they're still working on it.

LED tech just isn't where it needs to be to be a viable replacement for HID. Toyota's done some interesting stuff with the new Corolla, and even Acura now. The Europeans are really stepping up the game when it comes to LED output.

It'll take a little while for the aftermarket to catch up, just like it did with HID.

And Tony, for someone that's new to retrofitting, I would definitely tell them to stick with D2S or MiniH1's just for ease.

Good to know, I guess I'll just stay tuned for what hits the market and when and go from there.

haha yeah the 6.0 are the new ones to retro with. I have 5.0 and Im happy with them. Sure is a helluva lot better then stock. I wont do anything until I get a new truck and go with the FX-Rs or hopefully LED will have caught up by then. Only thing that really sucks for LED is you almost need a whole new headlight assembly to make room for size of the array

So I bought some b stock 6.0s but idk what bulbs to buy. Aren't those projectors bi-xenon? What bulbs are bi-xenon? Feel stupid lol

Bi-Xenon refers to how the projector works. It has a shield that physically moves out of the way. All you need a a regular old h1 bulb or d2s, which ever style projector you bought.

True, true. I was just thinking of the output vs install lol.

fuck for 50 bucks I can upgrade from my 5.0's to the 6.0's?

anyone go from 5.0 to 6.0? is it worth it?

I think pat has, maybe tony.

 I have. and what Pat said below.

I have. No more foreground limiter. You know that space between the front of the truck and the actual beginning of the output? Yeah that's gone now lol.

6.0's are also wider, seem to have a little more colour and are sharper.

MARC.

Just got a quote from my buddy. You'd be looking at $230 bucks without bulbs/ballasts. I've got some 5K bulbs I can sell you for 20bucks BNIB, and if you want you can just run some bullshitty DDM ballasts.

That's 2 projectors, full relay harness, high beam splitters (to send power to the bi-xenon solenoid from the high beam cable feeding the high beam bulb) Shrouds.

Dammit. Y'all are making me wanna buy denali's and retro them sooner than I originally planned. Some good info in here this should be a sticky

Honestly if you can get the cutoff plates from the 6.0's, they look pretty damn good in the 5.0 housing too if you go that route Zach. My buddy just got some free 5.0's that were missing the cutoff plate, and he slapped 6.0 plates in and while they're not as wide as the 6.0's, they're still pretty damn good, and NO foreground limit.

Also where dafuq is Marc?
