Marc new LBZ sort of a Build thread

made a list of stuff for my brother to do to my truck while i am away for work/holidays for 2 weeks

he will be able to do regular maintenance and he is a diesel mechanic so let me know if there is anything i should add while ive got him around

Brakes front/back
Ball joint
Windshield
Transmission service internal+ external filter
Rear-end fluid + additive
Transfer-case fluid
Grease front end
flush coolant

Add EGR blocker plate or delete kit
PCV reroute
I'd look into to ice pick, not sure if issue with LBZ's
And if labour free get him to do the pump rub fix on the Transfer case

thanks for the response, those things all take money on parts and will do my self when its warm out, and PCV reroute i am doing my self tomorrow

i don't have the money for EGR delete and pump rub fix at the moment since i am moving and need money for a hotel for a week, and need to put double payment on apartment, in the beginning of rent period, and money for dezul to drive out there.

i have to be a little tight with budget and everything

and the ice pick trick is not needed on LBZ or so it says on dieselplace

as soon as i get $550 bucks i am taking truck to BR power source for a +100 tune just got off the phone with him and he says as long as your not an idiot and do burnouts and stuff everywhere everything should last like stock, he also said he has done the 100+ tune in 1700 duramax trucks without any problem and has seen trucks with this tune run 700,000 miles with original transmission.

so i have a question i put on some 305/55/20 bfg tires which apparently don't fit on a stock height 2500hd :shrug: so i cranked the keys on it a few turns but really want to decrank it back to stock and pull the overload leaf do you guys consider it hack if i trim the steel/chrome part on my front bumper to make it fit ?

or i can do the moving bumper forward mod like this guy Diesel Place : Chevrolet and GMC Diesel Truck Forums

I would leave it the way it is till you can buy tires again. Trimming the valence is fine, me personally I think hacking on the chrome is, well, hack. And moving the bumper forward will make the truck look goofy as hell with that much underbite. I think the truck looks really good the way it sits :shrug:

yes but i want it lower, and not as rough of a ride, and it will wear less on front end, and angles will be more flat for 4wd launch, and it will be more arrow dynamic for fuel mileage :shrug:
 
I hear ya, but honestly I'd just wait till you can buy smaller tires. That's really the only good way to go about it IMO
