Should I go 1" lower or no?

You all are talking about 3 completely different wheels here
ltz 20's are +30mm on 8.5" wide
ltz 22's are +31mm on 9" wide
his are +30mm on 9.5" wide

Dakota's wheels are a full 1/2" more inward than yours. yours stick out 1/4" more than yours buddies. so if your buddy is rubbing on the same size tire, you will rub worse if you and your buddy has the same hub to fender measurements.

Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up..I thought stock ltz 20s were +31mm this whole time lol

Something is not falling in line with what you are saying.

If your buddy has the same body style truck, ecsb 2wd truck, and it is lowered with the same drop parts you are going to have on a 22x9 +31mm offset wheel on the same tires you have and he rubs. Then you are going to rub as well, because your wheels have 1/4" more front spacing that is going to make the fact your 265 tires are stretched on those 9.5" wheels.

You can't compare crews, rcsb, and ecsb trucks. They all drop slightly differently. So when comparing, you have to make sure you're comparing to a truck with the same suspension components used as well as body size.

1mm doesn't matter man. they may be +31mm.

It's the fact you all were talking about 8.5", 9", and 9.5". Just because the offsets are the same, doesn't mean they sit the same in relation to the fenders.

I understand completely what you're saying and logically it should rub, but I have very little camber and it's within spec, and my tire cover the wheel lip and the tire still sits far enough inside the lip to where there's no way it could rub, and I could roll the lip back if it was a problem but it just looks like there's no way. And my brother is the one I was comparing to with 04 ecsb.

What's the offset on the Caddy 22s? Cuz my cousins '00 ecsb is 4.5/7 on those with no rubbing.

cadillac 22x9 +31mm

Oh okay. Well I guess I'm gonna take a good look at it later and take some measurements. It should be fine, worst case I can roll the fenders and then I know it'll be fine.

I appreciate the help for sure tho. It def cleared up how all that works.

rolling NBS front fenders is a little more detailed than other vehicles.

Outlined the bludge and cut slits to roll fender, again cutting was done quickly to test principle not if it can be done neat or not, because Im sure it can be.

The only thing would be to fill in all the newly created gaps and holes with some kind of non expanding foam for rust and water protection. Besides that, thats just about all you need to do. Take 15-20 minutes perside once the fender is off...

I had to replace a fender on my truck. So I have these pics to add..

top of metal fender is STOCK...

its a super simple mod.

I see. Not too bad but I wouldn't be taking the fenders off. I'd take the wheels off and stick my head up in there. I'll see for sure later today if I'm gonna do all this. The wheels are def far enough in but I'm gonna triple check.
